WARNING - Spoiler for Da Vinci Code SeekTheCodes.com

As I mentioned in my last post, The Da Vinci Code (buy it) Quest Finalist email contains a link to a video. In the video, there are some letters which are brighter than others. When the following people are on camera the brightened letters are as follows:

• Ron Howard: “HITR”
• Tom Hanks: “MEAN”
• Brian Glazer: “AU”
• Minister for Culture and Communication: “NIVNF”
• Audrey Tautou: “DTIV”

So, altogether that’s: “HITRMEANAUNIVNFDTIV”…

I’m terrible when it comes to anagrams so The Internet Anagram Server gave me some ideas: FIND, HUMAN, etc. From that I was able to guess “Find The Vitruvian Man”. Ok? I’m guessing this ties into an earlier anagram: SEEK THE CODES which lead to Silas… I mean “Lisa S”s web page: www.seekthecodes.com. The people here have figured out several more clues to get down this rabbit hole than I have but, unlike the Quest on Google, which is a formal contest, what is this “anagram web quest” about? Just a convoluted way to promote the movie for people who like solving anagrams and finding hidden stuff on websites? I remember similar codes for The Matrix’s website - they did a whole bunch of nothing as far as I was concerned. They lead to a little bit more content but that was all. All this “secrets and suspense” movie promotion stuff reminds me of the “Drink Your Ovaltine” let down in A Chrismas Story
